Online skill gaming platform Games24x7 has announced Saroj Panigrahi as their new chief operating officer (COO). Panigrahi has worked in several important roles in the company in his 15 years of service. Before being appointed as the COO, Panigrahi was working on building MyCircle11, a fantasy sports app from Games24x7.
On being appointed as the COO, Panigrahi said, “There couldn’t be a better time to be in the rapidly growing sunrise sector of online gaming. I am truly honoured for this opportunity and the trust placed in me by the founders of the company.”
“Building upon the strong foundation and our remarkable journey in the industry, my goal is to drive forward the next phase of growth for our businesses at Games24x7,” he added.
Co-founder and co-CEO of Games24x7, Trivikraman Thampy also spoke on the occasion,
complimenting Panigrahi’s service to the company, how he takes on leadership roles and possesses an understanding of user needs.
“We are proud to have Saroj in this new leadership role, and excited about the limitless possibilities of innovation and growth that lie ahead,” Thampy said.
The company recently announced Vikrant Goyal as their new Chief Human Resources Officer as well. All of these changes come at a time when the online gaming sector in India is growing at a rapid pace.
Meanwhile, the government also released new online gaming rules in April this year and they are expected to come into effect soon, regulating the sector with the help of self-regulatory organizations (SROs). So far, industry gaming body All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) has taken some visible steps in the matter, preparing a draft model charter for SROs.
