Ampverse, DMI Finance incorporate JV to set up gaming studio in India

Singapore-based gaming firm Ampverse is now planning to set up its gaming studio in India. Ampverse manages several esports firms across Asia and provides creative e-sports influencer marketing solutions.
Notably, Ampverse also has an esports team named 7SEA Esports. It recently won the inaugural CS:GO LAN competition, TEC Arena Connect, that took place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
As per The Economic Times, the Singapore-based firm will further collaborate with DMI to develop products and merchandise. Currently, the company has 10 employees, but Ampverse revealed that they plan to increase the workforce in upcoming months.
Speaking to PTI, the cofounder and chief strategy officer of Ampverse, Charlie Baillie, revealed that they are entering the Indian market in a joint venture with DMI Finance.
Baillie said, “Content is a big part of our business. We will be investing in the studio and other capabilities as the month goes by. It will be set-up before the end of season 1 which is in February. College Rival is the first IP. Beyond that we are looking at original content IPs and other esports format IPs while we will continue to grow College Rival.”
“We expect over 80,000 students to participate in season 1 of College Rival. The platform will also work as a talent search platform. It will help us screen the best gamers,” Baillie added for DMI’s partnership with Ampverse.
Growing scope of esports in India
Many esports firms like Ampverse are now looking to capture the gaming market in India. Additionally, esports organizations are gearing up to host upcoming events from both old and new entries in gaming.
Speaking of esports, many Indian players have also secured a spot in the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. This will give an excellent platform to players for competing with the best players across the continent. Interestingly, for the 2026 Asian Games, esports will be considered as a medal event as well.
