Games24x7 Foundation, the non-profit arm of Games24x7, a prominent online skill gaming company in India, is introducing the ‘Wheels of Change’ initiative on National Girl Child Day. This initiative is a response to the significant challenge of over 5.5 lakh out-of-school girls in India, addressing the issue of distance as a contributing factor to the dropout rates among girl students.
Bhavin Pandya, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Games24x7, emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to overcoming barriers faced by aspiring girl students. The ‘Wheels of Change’ initiative focuses on providing access to high school education for girl students in the distant towns of Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The Foundation envisions empowering youth and catalyzing a lasting impact for future generations by fostering a society where learning and aspiration have no bounds. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra.
In Maharashtra, the annual student dropout rate stands at 10.7% at the secondary level, with five districts experiencing rates surpassing 15% in 2021-2022. Recognizing this as a barrier to the National Education Policy’s goal of 100% enrollment by 2030, Games24x7 Foundation plans to distribute 1000 bicycles in Dharashiv district, specifically targeting Bhoom, Washi, and Paranda. The initiative aims to provide independence, security, and shorter commutes, thereby breaking barriers to education for deserving girls.
The ‘Wheels of Change’ initiative builds on Games24x7 Foundation’s successful ventures in education, hunger, and healthcare. Collaborating with local authorities, the Foundation will conduct orientation sessions on road safety and compile data on attendance, punctuality, and educational aspirations to gain insights into the initiative’s transformative impact. This initiative represents a pivotal step in the Foundation’s mission to create a framework for long-term impact.
Games24x7 Foundation has a history of collaboration with non-profit organizations such as Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF), Hemkunt Foundation, Christel House, among others. The Foundation’s partnership on a child trafficking study with KSCF, utilizing technology for data analysis in real-time, exemplifies their commitment to meaningful change and impact on lives across the nation.
