A complaint was filed by an official of Big Daddy Casinos, alleging the creation of fraudulent online gaming websites using their company’s identity. In connection to that case, the Cyber Crime Police Station registered a case on May 9, 2024, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Information Technology (IT) Act, and the Trademarks Act.
Herald Goa reported the accused has been identified as Adla Nithin Reddy, operated under multiple website domains, including https://game-bigdaddy.com, https://bigdaddygames.co, and https://bigdaddy-games.in.
He used false company logos, brand names, and casino imagery to mislead users. By engaging in these deceptive practices, he violated both the IT Act and the Trademarks Act by illegally exploiting Big Daddy’s trademarks.
Reddy is a 22-year-old dropout from Vignana Bharti Institution of Technology in Hyderabad. He studied Computer Science and used ChatGPT to develop fraudulent websites hosted via “Hostinger.” After a thorough investigation, a team from the Cyber Crime Police Station, led by PI Deepak Pednekar, tracked and arrested Reddy at a five-star hotel in South Goa.
The suspect is currently in a four-day custody by the court. The investigation is ongoing as authorities are now further exploring the extent of the deception orchestrated by Reddy.
