Skyesports, a global IP builder for gaming and esports, has announced the Skyesports Showdown, an INR 1,00,000 open-for-all Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports tournament. The event is hosted by LG UltraGearTM, the gaming monitor brand, with support from AMD.

Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament, stating, “The Skyesports Showdown is another Counter-Strike 2 esports tournament which we have introduced to elevate the PC game’s esports status in India from the grassroots level. The tournament will not only enable continuous competition but also give emerging talents a platform to hone their skills as we aim to make India a major player in the global Counter-Strike esports ecosystem. Thank you to our partners in LG and AMD who believe in our vision.”

The tournament will begin with an open qualifier on May 28 and 29, where all registered teams will compete. The top four teams from the qualifier will advance to the Playoffs, scheduled from May 31 to June 2. This stage will be livestreamed on Skyesports’ official YouTube and Twitch channels, allowing esports enthusiasts to enjoy CS2 matches. The Playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket, with all matches being a best-of-three.

Mr. Yoojae Kim, Vice President & Director, Division Leader, Business Solutions at LG Electronics India Private Limited, commented, “We are thrilled to continue our association with Skyesports, one of the leaders in pioneering PC gaming and esports in India, in the Skyesports Showdown. The Skyesports Showdown, where local talent has been given the chance to showcase their skills in Counter-Strike 2 esports, is a perfect prelude for the Skyesports Championship, the international CS2 tournament set to happen on Indian soil. This collaboration not only showcases our commitment to empowering gamers with cutting-edge technology but also supporting the gaming community.”

Following the Skyesports Showdown, the Skyesports Championship will take place from July 23 to 28. This international CS2 tournament, featuring a $200,000 prize pool, will be an on-ground event in India, bringing together teams from around the world in competition.
