After a performance in India and the MENA region, Gamerji, an Indian esports tournament platform, has announced its entry into the Southeast Asia market, starting with Indonesia and the Philippines. This expansion is a strategic move to tap into the growing esports scene in Southeast Asia, a region known for it esports industry.
Southeast Asia has seen a rise in esports popularity due to the advancements in gaming hardware, robust internet infrastructure, and streaming technology. These factors have collectively enhanced the gaming experience for many users.
The gaming industry in Southeast Asia is on a growth path. According to Statista Research, the market is projected to reach USD 13.12 million in 2024 with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.05% in the games segment. By 2028, the market volume is expected to soar to USD 17.88 million. User penetration, currently at 40%, is anticipated to increase 338.2 million people by 2028, marking a 47% increase. The Southeast Asia esports market is positioned to have a CAGR of 8.20% from 2024 to 2032, indicating opportunities for players, enthusiasts, and industry stakeholders.
Gamerji, headquartered in Ahmedabad, has launched eight popular game titles including PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Valorant, Clash Royale, CS:GO, Rocket League, and FIFA. To attract new users, the platform is offering virtual currency and a free three-day subscription as a welcome bonus. The platform is accessible via its website and available on both Android and iOS stores. Gamerji aims to onboard one million users from the Southeast Asia region within the next 12 months.
The company hosted over 500 tournaments daily, engaging gamers from India and MENA. Currently, Gamerji has a registered user base of over 10.8 million and aims to reach 20 million users within the next year.
