SportsBaazi, a sports gaming platform in India, reported a 100% increase in revenue during the IPL 2024 season compared to IPL 2023. The platform also saw a 1.5x increase in user engagement during the first week of the T20 World Cup.
The average time users spent on the platform more than doubled, rising from 11 minutes to 26 minutes. The most picked players in the fantasy gaming category were Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Travis Head, and Sunil Narine.
The increased revenue shows that more people in India are enjoying engaging with sports in new ways. It also reflects the interest of Indian online gamers who are looking for new formats to participate in. During IPL 2024, the most active users on the platform were from Uttar Pradesh, followed by Maharashtra, Bihar, and Delhi.

Chopra mentioned that the IPL had set the momentum for the year’s sporting calendar and expressed that the T20 World Cup would further increase engagement and player conversations on the platform.
