The likely schedule for India’s matches in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been revealed. According to the Telegraph, The Men in Blue will play their opening game against Bangladesh on February 20, before locking horns with New Zealand on February 23.

India will face the arch-rivals Pakistan on March 1st. While the tentative schedule is out for India’s matches in Champions Trophy 2025, there is still uncertainty over their plans of travelling to Pakistan for the major ICC event.

Expected Dates for India’s Matches in Champions Trophy 2025:

  • India vs Bangladesh – February 20th
  • India vs New Zealand – February 23rd
  • India vs Pakistan – March 1st

Notably, Pakistan holds the hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and they are reportedly against using a “hybrid model” where some matches are played in alternate venues.

On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appears hesitant to travel to Pakistan due to ongoing political tensions between the two nations.

India hasn’t toured Pakistan since 2008, and bilateral series between the teams are also non-existent. Their face-offs are limited to ICC events or the Asia Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively trying to convince India to participate. Reports suggest they have submitted a proposal to the ICC guaranteeing all of India’s matches will be played in Lahore to minimize travel and logistical concerns.

Despite Pakistan’s efforts, the BCCI’s stance remains unclear. A “hybrid model” with India’s matches played in a neutral venue like Dubai is still a possibility.
