Since India has decided against travelling to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, there is a possibility that Rohit Sharma’s team will play their matches either in Sri Lanka or Dubai.
As reported by ANI News, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will request the ICC to organise the 2025 Champions Trophy using a hybrid model similar to the 2023 Asia Cup.
“India will not travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. Will tell ICC to hold its matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by ANI.
The Indian cricket team last toured Pakistan in 2008, and since then, political tensions between the two nations have prevented bilateral series, with the teams only meeting in ICC tournaments or the Asia Cup.
The Asia Cup 2023, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan, saw all of India’s matches, including the final, played in Sri Lanka after the Indian team refused to travel to Pakistan.
