England’s Test captain, Ben Stokes, reached a historic milestone on Thursday, joining the exclusive group of players with 6000+ runs and 200+ wickets in Test cricket.

Stokes is now only the third cricketer to reach this milestone in Test cricket history. He achieved this during the ongoing Lord’s Test against the West Indies when he dismissed Kirk McKenzie for a duck.

Ben Stokes joins a prestigious group, following the legendary footsteps of Sir Garfield Sobers and Jacques Kallis. Sobers, the West Indian icon, scored a whopping 8,032 runs at an average of 57.78 and took 235 wickets.

Kallis, the South African great, scored 13,289 runs at an average over 55 along with 292 wickets.

Talking about the match, batting first, the visitors were bowled out for 121 runs. In reply, England scored 371 runs in 90 overs, losing all 10 wickets. In their second innings, the West Indies have already lost six wickets for 79 runs at the time of stumps.
