Indian spinner Amit Mishra has revealed that Rohit Sharma was unhappy with the decision to remove him as captain of Mumbai Indians, especially since he wasn’t informed beforehand during IPL 2024.

Notably, Mumbai Indians replaced Rohit Sharma, their successful IPL-winning captain, with Hardik Pandya as skipper. Pandya was acquired for a staggering 15 crores before the IPL 2024 auction.

While Rohit Sharma himself did not comment on his removal as captain, despite his commendable leadership, he was visibly upset about it. This sentiment has been confirmed by his close friend, Amit Mishra.

Amit Mishra, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, stated that Mumbai Indians should have informed Rohit Sharma about this decision beforehand. Here is what Mishra told Shubhankar Mishra on his podcast:

“Woh IPL mein khush nahi tha! Rohit uss cheez se 100 percent upset hua hoga, kyunki woh emotional aadmi hai.”

Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians struggled. During IPL 2024, there were reports of a rift between Pandya and Rohit Sharma, but the two resolved their differences during the T20 World Cup 2024.
