Ex-Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel has criticized the team culture for focusing too much on individual players.

According to Parthiv Patel, the franchise’s star trio of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle were always given preferential treatment while ignoring other players.

However, despite having players like Kohli, De Villiers, and Gayle for numerous seasons, RCB has not managed to clinch the championship so far in the tournament history.

The team has made it to the finals three times but has been defeated each time. During his appearance on the Cyrus Says podcast, Parthiv stated that the main reason RCB hasn’t secured any titles is because they only focus on star players.

“I played for RCB, I’ve have been there for four years. The team is always about individuals it’s not about the team. And then everyone will come out of that team will say that.”

“Because it’s all about Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle when I was in the team. So they were given the kind of special preference always so there the team culture was not there you can see clearly when they are playing, and that is the reason why they haven’t won the trophies. That’s the fact.”

Even after changing the captain, RCB still hasn’t managed to change their fortunes.
