The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction is set to shake up the cricket world as we might see many big names coming under the hammer.

According to a journalist from Dainik Jagran, even Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, who have been the backbone of the Mumbai Indians, are expected to leave the franchise.

On the other hand, KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batter, might also leave the Lucknow Super Giants. The owner of the LSG, Sanjiv Goenka, scolded Rahul during the IPL 2024 on camera, a clip of which went viral on social media.

Ever since then, it has been speculated that KL Rahul will not be sticking with the Lucknow Super Giants anymore for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav Looking for Captaincy

Rohit Sharma was removed from the captain’s role by the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, and they made Hardik Pandya the captain of the team, a decision that did not sit well with the team.

There were reports that Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya even had a rift during IPL 2024, and recently, Amit Mishra made it clear that Rohit was not happy during the tournament.

This clearly indicates that Rohit Sharma might switch franchises, and there are plenty of teams that will be eager to pick him up in the auction, given his track record as a captain with five IPL titles under his name.

The same goes for Suryakumar Yadav, who is one of the finest batters in T20 cricket. He will also be looking to move to another franchise for a captaincy role. Notably, he has recently been appointed as the captain of the Indian cricket team in T20Is.

On the other hand, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who lost their wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik in IPL 2024 due to his retirement, will be looking for a replacement. Their hometown boy, KL Rahul, might be the best choice for this role.
