Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has urged the Indian cricket team to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to be played in February next year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been pushing the ICC to arrange a hybrid model, as India cannot travel to Pakistan due to the political tensions between the two nations.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is adamant about not arranging a hybrid model and insists on hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan. They have also requested the ICC to persuade India to travel to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik has urged the Indian team to travel to Pakistan, assuring them of the complete safety of their players and stating that they will receive the highest hospitality in Pakistan.

“Whatever reservations there are between the countries, that’s a separate issue and should be solved separately. Politics shouldn’t come into sports. The Pakistan team went to India last year, and now it’s a good opportunity for the Indian team too. I think there are many players in the Indian team who haven’t played in Pakistan, so it would be great for them. Hum bahut acche log hain (we are good people). We’re very hospitable people, so I’m sure the Indian team should come,” Malik said on a Pakistani YouTube channel to journalist Saleem Khaliq.

The final decision will be made by the Indian government on whether to allow the BCCI to travel to Pakistan, but there are high chances that the Indian government might not permit the team to travel to the neighbouring nation.
