India is set to host the much-awaited Asia Cup in 2025. The tournament will be played in the thrilling T20 format. This announcement comes after the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released an Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) for sponsorship rights.
The 2025 Asia Cup will feature six teams – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and a qualifier. While the exact dates are yet to be finalised, September is being considered as a potential window.
India’s cricket calendar for 2025 is packed with international matches. The team will be involved in a limited-overs series against England, followed by the Champions Trophy.
Post the IPL, there’s a tour of England and a series against Bangladesh lined up. Given this busy schedule, the Asia Cup is likely to be held after the Bangladesh series and before the West Indies Test matches.
Asia Cup 2027 to be hosted by Bangladesh
It’s worth noting that the 2027 Asia Cup will be a 50-over affair, hosted by Bangladesh. Additionally, the Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled for 2026 in the T20 format, followed by the men’s U-19 and Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
