The former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif heaped praise on India’s newly appointed T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, after India’s clean sweep over Sri Lanka 3-0 in the three-match T20I series.
The third and final T20I between India and Sri Lanka was one of the most interesting affairs, with Sri Lanka looking all set to claim the victory, but captain Suryakumar Yadav had other plans.
When Sri Lanka needed nine runs from the last two overs to win, Suryakumar Yadav brought Rinku Singh to bowl, which left everyone in chuckles. However, the move paid off as Rinku Singh picked up two wickets and conceded only three runs.
For the last over, Suryakumar Yadav himself came to bowl, and he also picked up two wickets as the match ended in a tie. Later in the super over, Team India chased down the easy target of three runs on the first delivery itself and won the match.
Mohammad Kaif, after the match, lauded Suryakumar Yadav by stating that he has learned all this from former T20I captain Rohit Sharma, under whom he played a lot.
