The co-owner of Delhi Capitals, Parth Jindal, has confirmed that he is against the impact player rule continuing in IPL 2025.

Apart from him, there are many franchises that opposed this impact player rule during the IPL owners’ meeting with the BCCI, held on July 31.

According to Parth Jindal, the impact player rule highly restricts the development of all-rounders, which he believes would be a poor idea for the Indian cricket team.

“Parth Jindal confirms that he is not in favour of Impact player rule as it restricts the growth of all-rounders in India even though it gives chances to more player,” Times of India reported.

Notably, even during IPL 2024, many big stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, and even the former Delhi Capitals head coach, Ricky Ponting, were against the impact player rule.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier said that they would decide on the future of the impact player rule after having a meeting with the IPL owners.

Now, since the meeting has been held, it is expected that the BCCI will announce its decision in August, alongside the other rules and guidelines for the IPL 2025 mega auction.
