India captain Rohit Sharma made a stunning comeback in One Day Internationals with an exceptional performance against Sri Lanka.

The Indian opener provided his team with a flying start and also etched his name in the record books by matching the great Sachin Tendulkar’s feat of 58 scores of 50 or more as an opener in ODIs.

Rohit once again exhibited his aggressive batting style. Right from the first ball, he showed his intent by hitting the second ball of the innings for a six. He targeted their debutant debutant Mohamed Shiraz in the fourth over, scoring 14 runs from it.

The India captain reached his half-century in just 33 balls. He was eventually dismissed after scoring 58 runs off 47 deliveries, which was braced with seven boundaries and three sixes in his innings.

This knock put him in the elite list as he equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record with 120 scores of 50 or more as an opener across all international formats. He has only five players ahead of him in this category.
