In what comes as a huge shock, Karnataka wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul has been dropped from the third ODI against Sri Lanka on Wednesday, July 7.
The Indian management decided to go with the young Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeping option after KL Rahul’s back-to-back poor performances in the first two ODI matches, including a duck in the second match.
However, this did not sit well with the fans who believe that KL Rahul, who averages above 50 in ODIs, deserves a spot in the middle order of the Indian team above Rishabh Pant due to his consistency.

Notably, KL Rahul, earlier dropped from the T20 internationals, had a point to prove in this ODI series. However, he could not do that in this series. Now it will be interesting to see if he will get another chance in the ODI squad going forward.
