Pakistan’s pace-bowling all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been sidelined from the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The pacer, who was conditionally included in the squad, has been instructed to work on his fitness.

Aamir is currently recovering from a back injury he sustained during this year’s county cricket season. Meanwhile, no replacement has been announced for Jamal, which means that Pakistan will likely proceed with 14 players for the two Tests.

“Right-arm fast bowler Aamir Jamal has been released from the Test squad ahead of the series against Bangladesh. Aamir, who was earlier included in the squad subject to fitness clearance, has been advised to work on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore,” PCB wrote in a media statement.

Notably, Pakistan is expected to field an all-seam attack for the first Test, as spinners Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam have been released from the squad to join the Shaheens.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the second Test, initially set to take place at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi, has now been shifted to Rawalpindi due to ongoing construction work at the Karachi stadium.
