The much-awaited schedule for India’s tour of England in 2025 was unveiled on Thursday. The five-match Test series will kick off on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds.
The BCCI took to X to announce the itinerary. The second Test will be played at Edgbaston from July 2-6, followed by the iconic Lord’s Test from July 10-14. Old Trafford will host the fourth Test from July 23-27, and the series will conclude at The Oval from July 31 to August 4.
This series holds immense significance for India, as they haven’t secured a Test series win in England since 2007. The last time India triumphed in England was under Rahul Dravid’s captaincy. The upcoming series will be a crucial part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
Earlier this year, India dominated England in their home series, winning 4-1. The visitors’ ‘Bazball’ approach failed to match India’s dominance, with Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin leading the charge. Youngsters like Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, and Akash Deep also made significant contributions.
