Saud Shakeel off to a great start to Test career

Shakeel, who had a great start to his Test career, is the first batter in Test history to score a half-century in each of his first seven matches, outdoing legends such as Sunil Gavaskar and Basil Butcher. His remarkable performance features a double century of 208 not out at Galle, the highest score ever by a Pakistani in Sri Lanka.

Shakeel scored 141 runs off 261 balls, including nine boundaries. Despite a brief collapse of the top order, Shakeel and Saim Ayub fought hard. Mohammad Rizwan then delivered a remarkable unbeaten knock of 171 runs, leading Pakistan to declare their innings at 448.
