The Delhi Capitals have approached former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh for the head coach position for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.

Delhi Capitals parted ways with Ricky Ponting last month after seven years, and reports suggest they are now looking for an Indian head coach who is well-acquainted with domestic players.

While Sourav Ganguly remains the Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals and continues with the support staff, there is speculation that Yuvraj Singh might be brought in as the head coach.

Although Yuvraj Singh doesn’t have much experience in coaching, he is known for mentoring young stars like Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, who often credit him for their success.

Delhi Capitals Eyeing Maiden IPL Trophy

The Delhi Capitals are still in search of their maiden IPL trophy. Despite coming close on several occasions, the team has never managed to lift the title. In IPL 2024, the Capitals failed to reach the knockout stages of the tournament.

Despite having some big names in their squad, they finished sixth in IPL 2024, winning seven games and losing seven out of the 14 matches they played. With 14 points, the Capitals missed out on a playoff spot due to net run rate, as Royal Challengers Bangalore made an outstanding comeback during the group stages.
