The first day of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was completely washed out by continuous rain. Even a toss couldn’t happen.

Rain initially delayed the toss at 9:30 local time (10 am IST). Despite a brief pause in the rain, which allowed for an inspection to be scheduled before Lunch, Umpires Richard Kettlebrough and Michael Gough took a walk on the field but ultimately had to wait for another inspection.

Lunch was scheduled at 12 local time (12:30 pm IST). However, only 15 minutes later, with rain once again pouring down, the umpires decided to call off the day’s play.

With Day 1 washed out, the pressure now mounts on Pakistan, who are trailing 0-1 in the two-match series. The hosts lost the first Test at this very ground in Rawalpindi by 10 wickets, marking Bangladesh’s first win against Pakistan in Test cricket.

Weather Update for Day 2

According to forecasts by AccuWeather, the second day is expected to be sunny. Pakistan must win this Test to avoid losing the series, while a draw would give Bangladesh their second Test series win away from home. Their last such victory came in 2009 against the West Indies (2-0), though they also won a one-off Test in Zimbabwe in 2021.
