The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the dates for the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) Final, which will be held at Lord’s from June 11 to 15.

To account for possible rain delays, the ICC has allocated June 16 as a reserve day.

The 2025 WTC will mark the third edition of the championship. The previous finals were held in Southampton in 2021 and at The Oval in 2023. This will be the first time the WTC final is hosted at Lord’s in England.

The top two teams on the WTC Points table at the end of the current cycle will compete in the 2025 World Test Championship Final. Currently, India leads the standings, with defending champions Australia in second place.

Based on the latest WTC points table, New Zealand (third), England (fourth), Sri Lanka (fifth), South Africa (sixth), and Bangladesh (seventh) remain in the race for a place in the final.

The ICC’s Geoff Allardice is hopeful that fans will turn out in great numbers for the anticipated clash at Lord’s. He also believes that Test cricket will continue to attract and excite fans in the coming years.

“The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition,” Allardice said.

“It’s a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world. Tickets will be in high demand so I would encourage fans to register their interest now to ensure they are in with a chance of attending the Ultimate Test next year.”
