The Australia cricket team recorded a groundbreaking 113/1 in their powerplay overs at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh, Scotland, setting a new record for the highest powerplay score by a full-member team in T20I history. 

Due to a phenomenal performance from Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh, Australia reached 113/1 at the conclusion of the powerplay, setting a record for the highest powerplay score in T20I history by a full-member team. 

Before today’s match, South Africa (102/0 vs West Indies in 2023) was the only other full member team to exceed the 100-run mark in a T20I powerplay. 

However, the record for the highest powerplay score in T20I history belongs to Romania, who scored 116/0 against Serbia in just 5.4 overs in 2021.

While chasing a target of 155, Travis Head remained not out with 80 off 25 balls, and Mitchell Marsh scored 39 off 12 balls. Jos Inglis later added an unbeaten 27 off 13 balls, guiding the team to victory in only 9.4 overs.
