Navdeep Singh has emerged as the new sports sensation in India, having won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F41 category with an impressive throw of 47.32 meters in the final.
In a recent podcast, Navdeep was asked to choose between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli as his favourite. To everyone’s surprise, Navdeep chose Rohit Sharma and also shared how long he has been following the T20 World Cup-winning skipper.
“Rohit Sharma. He plays very well. He had scored a double-century. What an innings that was! I’ve been his fan since then,” stated Navdeep, during a recent episode of Unplugged.
Rohit recently guided India to a historic victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, finishing as the second highest run-scorer with 257 runs from eight innings. It’s worth noting that he had also won the first edition of this prestigious tournament as a player.
What’s Next for Rohit Sharma?
Rohit Sharma will resume his role as captain for India in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, beginning September 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Following the two-match series against Bangladesh, India will play three home Tests against New Zealand in October. After that, the team will head to Australia for the crucial five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
