How often do you see a fast bowler taking charge at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium? It’s a rare sight, but Hasan Mahmud made it happen during the first Test between India and Bangladesh.

The young Bangladesh fast bowler stunned India’s top order, taking the wickets of star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and young Shubman Gill. When it seemed India might recover through the partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, Mahmud struck once more, dismissing Pant to put Bangladesh in a commanding position.

You might be wondering, who exactly is Hasan Mahmud, the young fast bowler from Bangladesh making waves? In this article, we’ll explore his background and uncover the story behind this promising talent.

Who is Hasan Mahmud?

Hasan Mahmud is a young and talented fast bowler from Bangladesh who has taken the cricket world by storm in the ongoing Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

As India chose to bat first after losing the toss, they faced an unexpected collapse, all thanks to the brilliance of this 24-year-old bowler. Hasan Mahmud dismissed India’s top-order batters, including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, in quick succession.

India had hoped for a strong start on the batting-friendly Chennai pitch, looking to post a big score. However, Hasan Mahmud had other plans. Coming into bowl, he struck early by dismissing Indian captain Rohit Sharma for just 6 runs off 19 balls.

He then got Shubman Gill out for a duck and followed it up by removing the legendary Virat Kohli for 6 off 6 balls. These quick strikes left India struggling at 34 for 3, shattering their plans of a steady start.
