Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant had a heated exchange with Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das during the first day of the ongoing first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Bangladesh wreaked havoc by taking three crucial wickets in the first session, dismissing captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli.
With the team struggling at three wickets down early, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant came together to build an important partnership, while Bangladesh looked for the 4th breakthrough.
Meanwhile, in the 16th over, the left-handed pair went for a quick single, but Jaiswal held Pant back, sensing the risk. However, the fielder at gully threw the ball, and it deflected off Pant’s pad towards mid-wicket.
Seizing the opportunity, Pant and Jaiswal took a quick single, a move that left the Bangladesh players unhappy since the ball had deflected off Pant. This led to a heated argument between Litton Das and Rishabh Pant, during which Pant was heard saying:
“Usko feko na bhai, mujhe kyu mar rahe ho?” (“Ask the fielder to throw it correctly; why is he hitting me?”).
