In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Basit Ali didn’t hold back his criticism. He predicted that Kirsten’s time as coach would come to an end after the Champions Trophy. Basit Ali said:
“Congratulations to Gary Kirsten. He will be at the helm of the team till the Champions Trophy. However, he will be fired after the Champions Trophy. I am saying this now that it will be tata, bye bye for him. It will be a big achievement for Pakistan to make it to the top four. They have also stepped into the politics of Pakistani cricket. They won’t be successful.”
Kirsten’s Involvement in PCB’s Meeting
Amid the growing criticism, Kirsten was seen attending a meeting held by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in Lahore on September 23. The meeting, dubbed the ‘connection camp,’ included the team’s head coaches and senior players. The agenda focused on key issues such as workload management and fostering team unity.
