Ashish Nehra’s Impact on Gujarat Titans
Ashish Nehra has been with the Gujarat Titans since their debut in the IPL. Under his guidance, the team won their first championship by defeating the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final. They reached the finals again the following year but lost to MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
In IPL 2024, the Titans faced challenges after the departure of their former captain, Hardik Pandya, who was traded to the Mumbai Indians before the mini auction. This change heavily impacted the team, and they finished eighth in the points table.
The Gujarat Titans’ board, which includes executives from CVC Capital, recently reviewed the team’s performance. They have opted to keep Nehra and Solanki for the upcoming season. Interestingly, Nehra, who was a regular presence on live television during the Titans’ matches, was absent last season due to conflicts with influential figures, according to Cricbuzz.

The Titans have also decided to retain their assistant coaches: Aashish Kapoor, Mithun Manhas, Narendra Negi, and Naeem Amin, along with performance analyst Sandeep Raju. However, they will need to find a replacement for Gary Kirsten, who has left his role as batting coach to become the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team.
