The SA20 Auction 2025, held on Tuesday, October 1, saw MI Cape Town make some crucial moves to strengthen their lineup ahead of the tournament’s start in January 2025. With a purse of R8.275 million, MI Cape Town made their presence felt by securing several key players.

Big-Money Signing: Reeza Hendricks

The highlight of MI Cape Town‘s auction activity was the signing of South African batter Reeza Hendricks for R4.30 million. Hendricks became the most expensive player purchased during Tuesday’s auction, and his addition is expected to bolster the team’s batting lineup. His vast experience and recent performances made him a sought-after player in the auction.

Along with Hendricks, MI Cape Town also secured Colin Ingram for R175,000, Dane Piedt for R175,000, and rookie Tristan Luus.
Before the auction, MI Cape Town had three general player slots, one overseas player spot, and one rookie slot to fill. With their successful signings, they have strengthened their squad and filled these gaps.
