UP Warriorz have announced their list of retained and released players ahead of the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL). The franchise has retained its core group, including skipper Alyssa Healy and all-rounder Deepti Sharma, as they aim to build a strong squad for the upcoming season. However, the release of England fast bowler Lauren Bell has raised some eyebrows among fans.
The team had already traded England batter Danni Wyatt to the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, last month. With the WPL 2025 auction approaching, UP Warriorz will look to make the most of their remaining purse to strengthen their squad further.
The franchise has retained key players like Grace Harris, Kiran Navgire, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Sophie Ecclestone, ensuring a balanced mix of international and domestic talent. These players will form the backbone of UP Warriorz’s strategy in the third season of the WPL.
Ahead of the auction, UP Warriorz have INR 3.90 crore left in their purse, giving them the flexibility to make some key signings to bolster their squad.
Retained Players: Alyssa Healy (c), Anjali Sarvani, Deepti Sharma, Grace Harris, Kiran Navgire, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shweta Sehrawat, Sophie Ecclestone, Tahlia McGrath, Vrinda Dinesh, Saima Thakor, Poonam Khemnar, Gouher Sultana, Chamari Athapaththu, Uma Chetry.
Released Players: Laxmi Yadav, Parshavi Chopra, S. Yashasri, Lauren Bell, Danni Wyatt (traded to RCB).
Remaining Purse: INR 3.90 Crore.
