However, Babar Azam and Saim Ayub worked together to stabilize the innings, adding 48 runs for the second wicket. Ayub made 25 runs before he was dismissed in the 10th over.

Babar then joined Mohammad Rizwan, and the two formed a strong partnership, putting together 115 runs for the third wicket. Both Babar and Rizwan scored half-centuries, with Babar making 73 off 95 balls, including seven boundaries. Rizwan, the top scorer of the innings, hit 80 off 82 balls with 10 boundaries, including three sixes.

Kamran Ghulam’s Blazing Finish

After Rizwan’s dismissal in the 36th over, Kamran Ghulam took charge. Coming in at number six, he played a fast-paced knock, hitting four fours and five sixes to reach 63 off just 32 balls. Kamran was involved in useful partnerships with Salman Ali Agha (33), Muhammad Irfan Khan (15), and Shaheen Shah Afridi (16). He was dismissed on the first ball of the final over.

South Africa’s Kwena Maphaka was the top bowler for the Proteas, taking four wickets. Marco Jansen supported with three wickets, while Bjorn Fortuin and Andile Phehlukwayo each took one.

With this performance, Pakistan set a competitive total of 329 runs. Pakistan is currently leading the three-match series 1-0, after their thrilling three-wicket win in the first ODI on Tuesday.
