Tanush Kotian, a 26-year-old spinner from Mumbai, has been included in India’s squad for the final two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

His inclusion follows Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement after the Gabba Test. With only Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar as spin options, Kotian was called to strengthen the team.

Kotian, who is an off-spinning all-rounder, is currently part of Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. He will travel to Melbourne on Tuesday to join the Indian team. The BCCI confirmed his addition to the squad through an official release on Monday.
