Rangpur Riders registered a comfortable 34-run victory over Sylhet Strikers in Match 4 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The Riders excelled with both bat and ball, securing their second win of the tournament.

Nurul Hasan’s Late Surge Powers Rangpur Riders

Rangpur Riders batted first and posted a total of 155/6 in their 20 overs. Despite losing early wickets, the Riders found stability through Iftikhar Ahmed, who played a composed knock of 47* off 42 balls.

Captain Nurul Hasan provided the much-needed acceleration in the latter stages, smashing 41 off just 24 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixes. Mahedi Hasan also chipped in with a quickfire 16 off 8 deliveries. For Sylhet Strikers, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Al-Amin Hossain were the standout bowlers, picking up two wickets each.

Khushdil and Nahid Rana Wreck Sylhet’s Chase

Chasing 156, Sylhet Strikers never found momentum and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Rony Talukdar tried to anchor the innings with a 41-run knock, but lack of support from the middle order led to a collapse.

Khushdil Shah was the pick of the bowlers for Rangpur, finishing with figures of 2/10 in his four overs. Nahid Rana was equally impressive, taking 4/27 and dismantling Sylhet’s batting lineup. The Strikers were restricted to 121/9 in their 20 overs, falling short by 34 runs.
