Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old from Mumbai, has put on a batting masterclass while playing against Nagaland in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. He smashed a stormy century at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, leaving everyone amazed.

Ayush Mhtare Hits His First List-A Century

On December 31, 2024, Nagaland won the toss and chose to bowl first. Mumbai got off to a strong start, thanks to openers Ayush Mhatre and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The duo added 156 runs for the first wicket before Angkrish got out, but Ayush continued his fiery batting.

Ayush scored 181 runs in just 117 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 11 sixes, with a strike rate of over 154. However, he missed a double century by just 19 runs. Apart from Ayush, Angkrish scored 56 runs, and captain Shardul Thakur played an unbeaten knock of 73 runs. Mumbai posted a massive total of 403/7 in 50 overs, their second-highest List-A score ever.

Who is Ayush Mhatre?

Born in 2007, Ayush Mhatre is a right-handed batsman who made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2024 Irani Cup. He also scored a century in his debut Ranji Trophy season. In just six first-class matches, Ayush has already scored 441 runs. In List-A cricket, he has played four matches, amassing 309 runs.

Notably, Ayush Mhatre went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
