Melbourne Renegades defeated Perth Scorchers by four wickets in a thrilling encounter at the Perth Stadium in Match 26 of the BBL 2024-25. Chasing 148 for victory, Renegades managed to secure the win with just two balls to spare, thanks to an extraordinary all-round performance by their captain, Will Sutherland.

After a top-order collapse, Sutherland played a captain’s knock, smashing a brilliant 70 off 45 balls to anchor the chase. His powerful hitting, which included five boundaries and three sixes, brought the Renegades back into the contest after they were reeling at 10/4 inside the first five overs. Sutherland found an able partner in Tom Rogers, who remained unbeaten on 49 off 31 balls, guiding the Renegades to 150/6 in 19.4 overs.
