Rangpur Riders emerged victorious by 3 wickets in a thrilling encounter with Fortune Barishal in Match 13 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The game seemed to be in Fortune Barishal’s hands until a sensational finish by Rangpur’s Nurul Hasan guided them to the target in the final over.

Batting first, Fortune Barishal set a challenging total of 197/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Kyle Mayers was the standout performer for Barishal, smashing an unbeaten 61 off just 29 balls, including 1 four and 7 sixes, at a striking rate of 210.34. Along with him, Tamim Iqbal (40 off 34) and Shanto (41 off 30) provided solid contributions at the top of the order.

However, the middle-order faltered as Mahmudullah (2 off 4) and Faheem Ashraf (20 off 6) couldn’t capitalize on the start. The lower order couldn’t provide much support as they finished with 197/5.

However, it was Nurul Hasan’s incredible cameo of 32* off just 7 balls that sealed the win for Rangpur. His 30 runs in the final over, all coming from boundaries and sixes, helped Rangpur reach the target with one ball to spare.

Rangpur finished with 202/7 in 20 overs, winning with 3 wickets to spare. Shaheen Afridi and Jahandad Khan were among the wicket-takers for Barishal, but the target proved too much in the end.
