The much-awaited SA20 2025 tournament begins on January 9, with defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape set to face MI Cape Town at St George’s Park, Gqeberha. Sunrisers Eastern Cape, aiming for a historic hat-trick, have won the past two editions, including a resounding 89-run victory over the Durban Super Giants in last year’s final.

The league features six competitive teams—Sunrisers Eastern Cape, MI Cape Town, Durban’s Super Giants, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals, and Joburg Super Kings—vying for the coveted title. The round-robin phase concludes on February 2, when MI Cape Town take on Pretoria Capitals, and the grand finale will be held on February 8 at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

A special moment marks this season as Dinesh Karthik becomes the first from India to join SA20, representing Paarl Royals.

Teams will focus on securing early wins to strengthen their chances for the playoffs in what promises to be an action-packed competition. Fans are eager to see if Sunrisers Eastern Cape can maintain their dominance or if a new champion will emerge.
