Cricket Australia has announced its preliminary 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pat Cummins, despite an ankle injury, will lead the team. The squad also features two newcomers, Matt Short and Aaron Hardie, who have earned their first call-ups for a major ICC event.

Australia’s team includes several experienced players such as Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis. In the batting department, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Inglis are the main names.

Jake Fraser-McGurk Misses Out

Young batter Jake Fraser-McGurk has been left out of the squad. He made his ODI debut in 2024 but failed to make an impact. In five ODIs, he scored only 87 runs at an average of 17.40, leading to his exclusion.
