The Big Bash League (BBL) has always been known for its thrilling cricket action, with fielding performances often stealing the spotlight. In one such game, Lachlan Shaw of Adelaide Strikers took fielding to a whole new level with a stunning save that left everyone in awe.
In the match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers, Shaw’s boundary save became the moment of the day. While the Sixers were bowling, Alex Ross of the Strikers slog-swept a delivery towards deep square leg. The ball was well-hit, and it looked destined for a six. But Shaw, positioned just at the boundary, had different plans.
As the ball flew over his head, Shaw leaped into the air, showing remarkable acrobatics, and just managed to parry the ball back inside the field of play. The save was so perfect that it stopped what would have been a certain six, and it quickly became the talking point of the game.
This could easily be called the best save in BBL history, as it took a superhuman effort to prevent the ball from going over the ropes.
