In the 22nd match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25, Chittagong Kings posted a mammoth total of 200/7 in 20 overs, with Graham Clark’s brilliant century playing a crucial role. Despite a late surge by Khulna Tigers, the Kings managed to win by 45 runs, as Khulna could only reach 155/9 in their 20 overs.
Graham Clark’s Unstoppable Century
Chittagong Kings were put to bat first after Khulna Tigers won the toss. The Kings started well, with Parvez Hossain Emon scoring 39 off 29 balls, and Usman Khan adding 10 runs. However, it was Graham Clark who took control of the innings, smashing an incredible 101 off just 50 balls. Clark hit 7 fours and 6 sixes, with a strike rate of 202.00, as he single-handedly propelled his team to a mammoth total.
Although the Kings lost wickets at regular intervals, including Clark’s dismissal at 168/3, the lower order provided some much-needed support. Mohammad Mithun remained not out on 11, while Khaled Ahmed added a quick-fire 7 not out. The Kings finished with 200/7.
Khulna Tigers Fall Short
Chasing 201, Khulna Tigers were off to a shaky start. Dominic Sibley and Mohammad Naim were dismissed early, and the Tigers found themselves at 30/2. Mehidy Hasan Miraz played a quick cameo, scoring 19 off 8 balls, but the middle order failed to capitalize. Afif Hossain (20), Darwish Rasooli (37), and Mohammad Nawaz (25) all got starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores.
Chittagong’s bowlers, led by Arafat Sunny, who took 3 wickets, and Shoriful Islam, who claimed 2, were too strong for the Tigers. Khaled Ahmed and Aliss Al Islam also played key roles, picking up 2 wickets each. Despite a late effort by Hasan Mahmud (12 not out) and Salman Irshad (2 not out), Khulna Tigers fell short of the target, finishing at 155/9.
