Khushdil Shah played a stunning knock under pressure as Rangpur Riders posted 164/7 in their 20 overs against Chittagong Kings in Match 24 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25. Opting to bowl first, Chittagong Kings kept the Riders’ top order in check, but Khushdil’s blazing half-century gave Rangpur a respectable total.

Rangpur Riders had a shaky start after losing opener Tawfique Khan for just 5 runs in the third over. Steven Taylor held the innings together with a steady 39 off 32 balls, striking one boundary and three sixes. Saif Hassan chipped in with 17 runs, but the Riders were struggling to accelerate as wickets fell regularly.

The momentum shifted when Khushdil Shah walked in. He smashed a brilliant 59 off just 28 balls, hitting seven towering sixes and two boundaries. His powerful hitting turned the tide for the Riders, helping them add 54 runs in the last five overs. Mahedi Hasan contributed 17 off 12 balls, while Mohammad Saifuddin added a quick unbeaten 8 off 4 to ensure the Riders crossed the 160-run mark.

For Chittagong Kings, Binura Fernando was outstanding with figures of 4-0-14-1, maintaining a tight line and length. Aliss Al Islam and Mohammad Wasim Jr picked up two wickets each, but the latter was expensive, conceding 42 runs in his four overs.
