Litton Das, one of the most consistent batters in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, continued his stellar form with yet another explosive innings. Playing for Dhaka Capitals, he smashed a brilliant 70 off just 48 balls in their recent match against Sylhet Strikers. His innings, laced with 4 fours and 4 sixes, helped Dhaka post a strong total of 196, ultimately leading to a thrilling 6-run win.
This innings came on the back of an unbeaten 125 off just 55 balls he hammered earlier against Durbar Rajshahi, proving his ability to dominate in the shortest format. In the current BPL season, Litton has amassed 328 runs in just eight matches at a strike rate of 153 and an average of 46. These performances only amplify the criticism surrounding his exclusion from Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy squad.
Litton Das’ Response to His Exclusion
Addressing his omission, Litton shared his disappointment but maintained a composed outlook.
“The Champions Trophy selection wasn’t in my control. The selectors took the call. My job is to perform. I was upset, but I am focused on my game,” Litton said.
He acknowledged that his performances had dipped earlier, which led to his exclusion.
“I was dropped because I wasn’t performing. It’s normal. But my mindset remains the same. I will keep working hard and start every match from zero,” he added.
For Litton Das, it’s clear that the best way to respond is by scoring runs and leading his team to victories.
