The England cricket team has revealed their playing XI for the first T20I of the five-match series against India. The match will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Wednesday, January 22. Jos Buttler, England’s white-ball captain, will play as a specialist batter in this series, with Harry Brook serving as the vice-captain.

The series opener will be followed by matches in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai. After the T20I series, England will also play a three-match ODI series against India.

England has named a strong lineup for the first T20I, featuring Jofra Archer and Mark Wood in the bowling department. Young players like Jacob Bethell and Gus Atkinson have also been included in the team.

On the other side, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Indian team in the series opener.
