Ravindra Jadeja showcased his brilliance once again, picking up a five-wicket haul in Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy match against Delhi in Rajkot. This was Jadeja’s 18th five-fer in the tournament and a special one as he crossed the milestone of 200 wickets in Ranji Trophy.

Jadeja became the fourth bowler from Saurashtra to achieve this feat, joining Jaydev Unadkat, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, and Kamlesh Makvana. Playing his first Ranji game in two years, the 36-year-old delivered a match-winning performance, helping Saurashtra bowl out Delhi for 188 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja’s Impactful Spell

It didn’t take long for Jadeja to make an impact. In just 11 balls, he trapped Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan LBW for 12. He later dismissed Yash Dhull (44), Delhi’s young talent, with another LBW decision.

Jadeja continued his dominance, dismissing skipper Ayush Badoni (60), who was Delhi’s top scorer. He then cleaned up the tail by taking the wickets of Harsh Tyagi and Navdeep Saini to complete his five-wicket haul. He also dismissed Rishabh Pant for just one run, proving his mastery against fellow national teammates.

This performance also marked Jadeja’s 35th five-wicket haul in first-class cricket, which includes 15 five-fers for India in Test matches.

Both Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant will soon join the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the UAE. The duo, part of India’s victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign, will be crucial for India’s plans in the upcoming tournament. Jadeja’s form in the Ranji Trophy is a positive sign for India ahead of the ODI event.
