Abu Dhabi Knight Riders secured a 42-run win against MI Emirates in the 17th match of the ILT20 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. After winning the toss, MI Emirates chose to bowl first but struggled to contain the Knight Riders, who posted 182 runs. In response, MI Emirates could only manage 140 runs in their 20 overs.
Knight Riders Post a Challenging Total
Batting first, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders scored 182 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Alishan Sharafu anchored the innings with a brilliant 55 off 38 balls, hitting seven boundaries and one six. He was well-supported by Charith Asalanka, who contributed 32 runs. Jason Holder added fireworks towards the end, smashing an unbeaten 22 off just seven balls.
Alzarri Joseph was the pick of the bowlers for MI Emirates, taking three wickets for 32 runs. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Zahoor Khan chipped in with one wicket each, but the rest of the bowlers struggled to keep the scoring rate under control.
MI Emirates Falter in the Chase
MI Emirates had a poor start as they lost quick wickets in the powerplay. Kyle Mayers dismissed Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem, while David Willey sent back Tom Banton cheaply. Captain Nicholas Pooran also fell early, leaving the team struggling at 17-3.
