England will look to bounce back in the second T20I against India on Saturday, January 25, after losing the first match by seven wickets. To improve their bowling, England has replaced Gus Atkinson with fast bowler Brydon Carse in their squad. While the official reason for this change is not confirmed, it is believed to be a tactical move following Atkinson’s poor performance in the opening game.

Brydon Carse is known for his ability to bowl with extra bounce and pace. If he plays, he will join Jofra Archer and Mark Wood in England’s bowling attack. This combination could strengthen England’s middle and death-overs strategy and provide a fresh approach against the Indian batters.
Concerns Over Batting and Bethell’s Absence
England has also added Jamie Smith to their squad as a backup option. This decision comes after reports of all-rounder Jacob Bethell missing training due to illness. If Bethell recovers in time, Smith is unlikely to feature in the playing XI.

Despite their top order failing in the first T20I, England is set to continue with the same batting lineup. Jos Buttler played a captain’s knock, scoring 68 runs from 44 balls, but the rest of the batters, including Phil Salt, Ben Duckett, Liam Livingstone, and Jacob Bethell, struggled to make an impact.
To level the series, England will need both their batters and bowlers to perform well in the second match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
