India captain Rohit Sharma joined Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir as he looked to find form after a lean patch in international cricket.
Rohit struggling to make an impact as he managed to score just 3 runs in the first innings. However, in the second innings, he batted with more intent and scored 28 runs off 35 balls. His innings ended in the 14th over when Yudhvir Singh Charak dismissed him with a pull shot, caught by Abid Mushtaq.

Rohit’s opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, also had a challenging game. After being dismissed for 4 runs in the first innings, Jaiswal scored 26 runs off 51 balls in the second innings before Yudhvir struck again, with Yawer Hassan taking a catch in the gully.
Rohit’s participation in the Ranji Trophy comes after a difficult run in India’s recent Test series. He scored 91 runs in three Tests against New Zealand and just 31 runs in three matches during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25.
